Jo-an DeSell has capped her career as an equestrian competitor, judge and riding instructor, Jo-an specializes in the sale of horse farms and land. She has a long history of wintering in Southern Pines, and in 1999 made it her year round home. Jo-an's life long ties to the horse industry, her love and knowledge of the area and her precision for farm layout equip her perfectly for selling properties in the Sandhills.
Mickey Wirtz moved to the Sandhills in 1957 after living in many locations around the world with her father, who was serving in the U.S. Air Force. She and her husband, George, who have been married 37 years, built their own horse farm in Southern Pines. Both are active in the Moore County Hounds. Mickey has been involved with the Moore County Hounds since winning numerous equestrian awards, including the Junior Point to Point, which was presented to her by Mrs. Moss. Mickey is a graduate of Southern Pines High School. She earned a bachelors degree in history from East Carolina University. She is co-chairmain of the Moore County Hounds Hunter Trials, and her husband serves on the board of the Carolina Horse Park.

Katie Walsh - Having completed her graduate education at UNC Chapel Hill, Katie spent the next fifteen years in New York City working for non-profit institutions such as the Folk Art Museum and American Museum of Natural History before moving to Greenwich, Connecticut. There, she worked as an environmental fundraising consultant for the national political campaign “Save Our Everglades.” Katie lived in Greenwich for ten years before relocating in 2003, to Southern Pines with her horses and dogs to enjoy the temperate weather and easy footing for riding.
In 2004 Katie became a real estate broker specializing in horse farms, luxury properties and conservation property sales. She is actively involved with the Sandhills Area Land Trust, the Southern Pines Garden Club and enjoys writing fiction and poetry.
Katie has been an avid equestrian her entire life. A western pleasure rider in her early years, she hunted with the Red Mountain Hounds while in graduate school at UNC Chapel Hill. While living in the northeast, she kept her four horses in Millbrook, NY. She competed at the lower levels in eventing, and capped with the Millbrook Hunt. Now, Katie is an active member of the Moore County Hounds.
Katie and her husband Dick live in Southern Pines. They share a love of horses, dogs, golf, and the outdoors. Together, they have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Pam Jensen has work experience in the food service industry as a manager and Food and Beverage director as well as civilian military experience. PAM is an expert at moving having moved 11 times in 12 years. All the moving made PAM realize she had become an expert in real estate, said HAGAN.
PAM is originally from Connecticut, has lived abroad and is now happy to be a resident of Southern Pines where she can raise her children and ride her horse. PAM participated in Fox Hunt at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas and received her Colors. PAM is successfully competing in the Jumper Division with her chestnut gelding which she has owned for the past 5 years. Audrey Wiggins - grew up riding and training horses in Ocala, FL. She is a graduate HA ponyclubber and continues to compete her horses in the sport of eventing nationally. After graduating with a BS degree in Sports Medicine from St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, NC, she moved permanently to Moore County. Audrey currently lives on her Brookshire Farm in Carthage, NC where she runs a small breeding and boarding operation and trains her current event horse, Solo Flight. Her intimate knowledge of horses, riders and their specific needs allows her to be highly attuned to the individual needs of her horse property clientele. Audrey also is a liscensed NC General Contractor, and works with several premier builders in Moore County. In her years of experience, Audrey has successfully worked with all types of buyers and sellers, including New Construction, Golf properties, Horse farms, and land. Deborah Roberts, a successful 20 yr. plus Real Estate Broker born and brought up in Massachusetts where she lived for most of her adult life. Deborah has earned many national and state designations (Graduate of the Real Estate Institute [GRI], CLSS [Certified Land Sales Specialist], Buyer Broker Representative and currently working on her CRS [Certified Residential Specialist].
Carriage driving is what brought she and her husband (Herb) of 20+ years to the Sandhills. Her love and respect of horses came from her Dad, Milton Walsh, an avid polo player and Thoroughbred race horse trainer. The sport of Combined Driving has been her passion for the past 4 years. She qualified to represent the USA for the World’s Singles Championships in Poland this year with her Paint/Welsh Cross Lord Benjamin. Formerly of Prescott, Arizona, she successfully practiced Real Estate as a BROKER, Manager for almost 10 years.
Deborah is married to retired Attorney Herb Roberts, has two children and 4 grandchildren.
